Africa Day

This poem goes out to Africa and all its descendants.
This too goes out to every tribe, culture, and our diverse interpretation of being African.
To every country, every province, every hill, and every valley that many can tell endless stories of how this content has not only enclosed every seed that was once planted and gave rise to the landscape we call home as well as its hidden secrets and all those who once walked boldly on this very soil.

This poem goes out to Africa and all its descendants.
This too goes out to all the different tribes whose tongues click differently but communicate efficiently customs and traditions that give meaning to our upbringing, enthusiastic rhythm, color coordination, artistic voices, and gourmet dishes. To our diverse culture, that is introduced to new generations by thee other, cultivating a new interpretation and expression becoming a garment that is warm enough for others to break bread with us.

This poem goes out to Africa and all its descendants.
This too goes out to all Africans that are repositioning themselves to be active participants in the development, translation, and implementation of African ways in modern society. Modeling to society that Africa finds definition when its people demand a seat in the influencing and shaping of nations.
Let’s press in, get every part of us in, get every thought, idea, and plan of how we can integrate our grandmother’s ways of healing in. There is no idea too small, no conversation too complex but there is a greater call that will require us, not parts of us but every part even the parts of us that still lie unknown. So here is to discovering more parts in and around us that sets us apart as Africans.

This poem goes out to Africa and all its descendants.
And in the world of Michael Eric Dyson, The genius of African culture is surely its repetition, but the key to this repetition is that new elements were added each go-round. So I speak to you bo’Africa step forward and add something new.

Lean in|

Lives line up in the presence of eternity and our destinies are colour coded in blessings. Ultimately we are blessed going in and blessed going out. But It is in the showing up, that the discipline of obedience cultivates a disciplined believer in us, so let us lean in.

Lean into His presence , get close enough to the stirring pool, for the Lord is about to stir you up fully, and strengthen yourself in Him.

Get close enough to the well of Jacob, for the Lord awaits to remind you that in Him there is grace and in you flows rivers of living water that quenches all who thirst for righteousness.

Get close enough to the battle field of Goliath, for God is preparing to show you how accurate and faithful His word is when applied first. Get close enough to Simon’s boat for you have been called to recover souls.

The time has arrived to put feet to your prayers, and lean in with the aim of gathering all for God’s kingdom.

Recover All

I want it back
I want it all back
Every part of my security,
restored in Him and not in things that became a safe space in place of Him.

I want it back
I want it all back
I wanna hear my bones crackling,
rejoicing that the Lord of Host, is now hosting a revival in my very own bones.
Setting sin ablaze, re-arranging my season of mourning to a season of praise.

I want it back
I want it all back
I want my mistakes to be exchanged for miraculous intercession with the King.
God’s provision to provide new vision where I lack.Turn my weeping into streams that ease joy back, into me. That I may dance, dance my spirit ablaze, as I regain all that which once, was taken away.

Keep Hope alive

Tall beautiful buildings stand boldly in the center of our nations, they stand together in the center of relationships, they stand with no knowledge in the form of religion echoing how they are God’s most prized possession made from all kinds of valuable stones and timber, yet You chose us, sculptures made from clay to make Your temple, and our foundation are Your scriptures and our stature is Your goodness.

We bear witness as God walks with us. Directing us that holiness and sinfulness can’t fellowship together, giving reason for His Son to gather all scattered parts of us, our Shepard. His aim is not to blend in or mix sin with him but to tear down that veil that disqualifies us from an intimate relationship with him. Sowing our desires into the very fabric of him, clothing conversations with a garment that speakes of him, the descendent of David, the conquer of sin, He who made communion with the father available to those who choose him. So press in, get every part of you in, Abide in Him not along side Him or in a rear view of Him, extend your conversations with Him, exchange meditations for long heartfelt expressions, and express to Him that no room your in can remain the same because of Him.

Take heart and let hope, hop into your inner being. Let hope anchor your confessions in Him, let hope create streams in the desert, let hope carry you into His presence, let hope in Christ Jesus teach your heart the intangible gift of believing.

To be a friend of Jesus

I have a friend who calls me by name
and our conversation can be likened unto a breeze, brushing gently agains the leaves of a steady tree, like roots anchoring themselves between the fine grains of soil.

We meet and butterflies are awaken in our  stomachs, we share every part of each other. I love how my friend not only completes my sentences but He inspires them.

I’ve learnt to boast mostly about Him, and how He rescues your dreams with just one word, that word being ‘yes’ and if you listen closely it ends with ‘amen’. I’ve learnt that He has a great sense of humor, words humbly submit themselves to him.

We don’t put too much effort into making each other smile because being in each others presence liberates our spirits , it is as if time sits in between us and reminds us of our Genesis, reminding us of how He was the one planting seeds and now that we are one, we are harvesting the fruits together in the land of the living.

We have a friendship with Jesus that can’t be likened unto any other relationship on earth, but He will surround us with relationships that reflect parts of him, relationships that inform us of Him, relationships that impart grace, forgets sins and washes us clean and relationships that calls us into deep intercessions with him.

Chapter 1

We in person and on paper are great stories.
We are the First page drenched in love, Second page an expression of love, Third page preachers of love. But we too are the Fourth page of hurt, Fifth page of disappointments; but look we are also become the Sixth page of perseverance, and finally sealed by his blood a perfected Seventh page for in Christ Jesus here one finds completion.
